Star Wars Rogue One is out

If you didn't know already, Star Wars Rogue One came out recently. I heard that it is an extremely good movie so go watch it when you have the chance, because you won't be disappointed!

Here is a fact

Did you know that it is scientifically proven that classical music relieves stress and helps you think?

A study in France showed that students that listened to a lecture while listening to classical music playing in the background did much much better than students who listened to the SAME lecture, but without classical music playing.

Here is my source.

League Tournament

As I expected, SKT T1 won against ROX Tigers and SSG won against H2K
Now it is the League Finals: SKT T1 versus SSG. SSG is the underdog right now but they have a 10 game winning streak so SKT should not underestimate them.

Simple electric components

There are many electric devices in ere are some of them:

Resistor: The resistor is probably the most popular device in electronics. The resistor decreases the amount of voltage in a circuit. The unit to measure resistors is Ohms. It is represented by the Greek symbol omega.

Conductor: The conductor stores up electricity, then releases it all in one short burst. It is like someone charging power then releasing it for a higher power output. The measurement for capacitors is Farads, named after a scientist whose last name is Farad.

ICs: ICs stand for integrated circuits. They are used for many different tasks. One popular ic is the 555 timer integrated circuit.

Pictures would be coming soon!

SKT T1 vs ROX Tigers

Tomorrow SKT T1 is going against ROX Tigers. Personally I think that SKT is going to win because they have Faker. It is best out of five games so I think that SKT is going to win 3 wins to ROX winning 1 game.

What I want to buy in League

Right now Ezreal looks really good because he basically has flash every 25 seconds (his E) and his passive is also over powered. His ult is perfect foe kill stealing so I would probably buy him.

League Stuff

I started playing League of Legends in like June so yeah. I did not play in a long time though but friend requested me anyways my username is awesomeprsn. I main adc right now but I might change to something else.

League Worlds Championship

So it is now the semi finals and the teams are SSG(Samsung Galaxy) versus H2K on one side and SKT T1(South Korea Telekom) versus ROX Tigers. SSG is probably going to win after it swept C9 in the quarter finals 3-0. (Rip C9 Sneaky)

On the right side, SKT T1, the team most expected to win the whole championship, is probably or definitely going to win against ROX Tigers.

After that, during the final, which is SKT T1 is probably going to win since they have Faker, who just happened to be Rank one sometime in the past.

Orlando shooting

Recently, a mysterious person in Orlando went on a shooting spree and killed 49 people. Luckily, the police shot him before he could kill more. It is a tragedy and I hope that this never happens again.

Can a Microsoft Surface Pro run League of Legends?

I might start playing Lol soon because I heard that it is so popular. Just wondering if a Surface Pro will be able to run it without lagging like crazy.
Can't believe summer is so soon.

Big update on PvZ

I didn't post about plants versus zombies for a long time, so here is an update. I finished Dark Ages Frostbite Caves and is almost done Lost City. I earned enough gems to get the lava guava, which is really good. I also have the hurrikale and the homing thistle, but both of them aren't as good.

Our Play!

We presented our play and it was pretty nice. We didn't screw up like I said ( I am a pessimist) but we did have some mishaps here and there, but nothing to major! Overall, our play was pretty fun. Visiet our blbog! www.howtobeanoutsiderandstaygold.blogspot.ca

Our Sets!

For our play, our sets are all perfect now. I do admit that they look really good. Now we need to work on our timings and our acting. The execution is very important.

I don’t think that we are ready...

We only have 10 days left to the presenting date and I don’t think that we are ready at all. I just have this feeling that we will mess up badly.

The Play

Only 10 days left until we present our play!

Types of clouds #6

Cirrus clouds are a types of cloud often described by thin, wispy strands of it. Its name comes from the Latin word cirrus, which means a ringlet. Cirrus clouds form when water vapour deposits at altitudes above 5000 metres. That means when water vapour turns into a solid. It is usually light grey or white in colour. They usually show the arrival of precipitation. Cirrus clouds can stretch to the size of a continent.

Your typical cirrus clouds

Types of clouds #5

Altostratus clouds are basically stratus clouds but they appear in middle altitudes. They are big sheets of clouds but most of the time, they are very thin and you might be able to see the sun shining through the clouds.

Difference between credit cards and debit cards part 2

In the last part, we talked about credit cards. Now, we will talk about debit cards.

Debit cards are the safe choice. When you make a transaction with one, the money will be quickly withdrawn from your bank account instead of piling up as debt. As a teenager, you should get a debit card so you won't overspend.

Difference between credit and debit cards part 1

We know that there are two main types of cards: credit and debit, but what are their differences?

When you use a credit card, the money you owe would get stored in a place so you don't pay immediately. Then, after a period of time, usually every month, you have to pay all the money stored in that place. You might make too many transactions so that you don't have enough money to pay all of it! Then, it is called debt. Teenagers who still didn't learn how to manage money shouldn't have this card because before you know it, they will have a huge amount of debt!

All of the .ios!

Everyone knows agar.io. Now, there is another  game called slither.io. Then, I just found another server game called diep.io. Why are they all have .io?

The Universe is stretching

You know that light travels in waves. For every colour, there is a different wavelength. Blue waves have shorter wavelengths, and red ones have longer wavelengths. Using redshift, Edwin Hubble was able to discover that the further a galaxy was from us, the faster is was moving away from us! Edwin Hubble realized this and declared that the universe was expanding.

Ultimate

Ultimate is a game with frisbees, or discs, if you call them like that. You can't call it Ultimate Frisbee because frisbee is copyrighted. It is like football but players can't run when they have the frisbee(they throw it to someone else) and no violence is allowed. Players must throw the frisbee and another team member must catch it in the "endzone" while people from the other team tries to block them.

If a team throws the frisbee and one of their members don't successfully catch it, the possession changes.

Ultimate is a game that relies on agility, tallness (to a degree), and your frisbee throwing skills. It is also a good physical workout.

Quadratic Formula

The quadratic formula is used to solve any quadratic equation: equations of the type: ax^2 + bx + c = 0

This is the quadratic formula. For any quadratic equation, for example, x^2 + 6x - 2, you identify a = 1, b = 6, and c = -2. Then, you plug the numbers in.
x = -6 plus or minus square root(36 + 8)/2
x = (-6 plus or minus sqaure root 44)/2
x= -3 plus or minus square root 11.
So there are two possible answers for this equation. It is possible to have no answers at all if the square root is negative, or one answer if the square root is zero.

P v Z Cheat

You may think that the spring bean is useless after Pirate Seas, but you are wrong. The spring bean and blowver are really over-powered. Basically, when you have a huge wave of zombies, you put the spring bean down and give it a plant food. The spring bean will bounce all the zombies in the air, and when they are in the air, use the blowver and blow them away, since they are technically in the air. It destroys all zombies on screen for only 100 sun and a plant food! You have to time it correctly, though, or else it won’t work. Wait for the spring bean to jump, then put the blowver.

Outsiders Play Sets!

We created 3 cars for the Outsiders play. A blue Ford Mustang, a White Cadillac, and a red Buck’s Thunder bird. We made them by cutting foam into shapes of the cars and then painting them over with acrylic paint. They actually look pretty good!

NASA's new collection of planets!

Today, NASA revealed the new planets discovered by Kepler. 1,284 planets were found; a huge achievement for NASA. 550 planets have a good chance to be rocky planets like Earth. In fact, this could mean that I might be able to resume the "Some of space's weirdest exoplanets" series if any weird planets are found. Some many new planets are exciting for everyone. We might even be able to find an Earth-like planet, that who knows, we might be living on in the future.

Finally

I finally beat the boss battle for Wild Wild West! In my opinion, boss battles are pretty easy. Some levels in that world were harder than the boss battle, especially the one that doesn't let you use more than 2000 sun and lose more than 2 plants.

Plants VS. Zombies 2

I started playing P.V.Z 2 maybe a week ago. I am on the Wild Wild West and those poncho zombies are extremely annoying. The split pea is extremely useful for those zombies that fly behind them because they have a repeater in the back and a peashooter in the front. Snapdragons are also good because if you have one column of them with walnuts in front of them, they are really good and do immense damage. The spikerock is good, too.

One hundredth post!

This post is the one hundredth post I posted on this blog. Thanks for everything!

Today is when Mercury transits the sun...

Today is like when we have an eclipse with the moon, but replace the moon with Mercury. Yes, today is when Mercury transits the sun. Be sure to watch it on livestreams or watch it yourself. Be sure to wear correct eyewear to make sure that the sun won't damage your eyes!

Rubik's Cube

I know how to solve the Rubik's cube. It is fun.

Fort McMurray Fire

If you didn't already know, there is a huge fire at Fort McMurray in Alberta, Canada. It already covered 1560 square kilometres and it is still growing! All of Fort McMurray's residents were forced to flee and the financial cost is huge. Hopefully, the fire will be extinguished as soon as possible so that they could return to their homes! (It their homes are still standing, of course)

Three new Earth sized planets found that might support life!

Three possibly habitable Earth sized planets were found orbiting a dim, cold, ultra cool dwarf star that is barely bigger than Jupiter. The star was originally called 2MASS J23062928-0502285 but after the discovery of the three exoplanets, it was renamed to TRAPPIST-1, after the telescope that discovered this star so that it is easier, and much faster to pronounce. and easier too remember. It is located about 39 light-years from here. It is about 2,000 times less bright than the sun, one eighth its width, one twelfth its mass, and half as hot.

The three planets are about 10% bigger than Earth and the first two planets' orbit is 60 to 90 times closer to the sun than Earth is but due to their star's small size, it is kind of proportional. Since they are so close to their star, they were forced to become like Uranus, spinning on their side. One year on those planets are 1.5 and 2.4 Earth days respectively. The third planet might be in the habitable zone and the first two planets have daysides that are too hot and nightsides that are too cold, but in between those two sides, there might be a spot that would be just perfect in temperature.

Types of clouds #4

An altocumulus cloud is a mid-level cloud that is usually about 1 kilometre thick. It comes from the latin word altus, which means high. It is described by many patches and rolls, like many small islands in the sky. If you see altocumulus clouds in the morning and it is really humid that day, then there is a good chance that there will be a thunderstorm later in the day.

American politics

Well, Donald Trump has secured the Republican nominee. Ted Cruz and John Kasich dropped out these two days. On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton is still beating Bernie Sanders. There is a small chance that Sanders will win, so it is basically Clinton and Trump going against each other.

Transit of Mercury

This is when Mercury is between the Earth and the Sun. It is happening on May 9, so don't miss it. It you are on the other side of the planet, then you can go watch it on lifestream, and there will be live stream. This only happens about once in every eight years, so seize the opportunity. Venus also transits the sun since it it closer to the sun than Earth is but its transit already passed; in 2012. Its next transit don't occur until 2117, so unless you have extremely good health and live for another 101 years, you won't be able to see Venus transit the sun.

Amazon Rainforest

The Amazon Rainforest is the biggest and most diverse forest in the world. Many species don't live anywhere else in the world. This is why conserving this rainforest is very important! If deforestation continues at the rate it is right now, Earth would lose the Amazon Rainforest and a big part of its ecosystem. Also, many plant and animal species would become endangered or extinct, mainly the ones that only live there. Imagine camping there for a while! It would be scary and a good experience.

Outsiders

We are still planning how to get or create the set items we need, like the burning church. We need to do this correctly or else the audience would thing that they are fake.
Sorry again for not posting the previous days... I have been busy!

Yay

We have reached our one thousand view!

Giro d'Italia route

The race would start in the Netherlands. Then, they would flu to the very south of Italy and they would ride upwards to the north east of Italy. Then, they would end in Torino.

Giro d'Italia

If you want to take a big tour of Italy, the Giro d'Italia is the place for you. You can do it for free, and if you win, you get money!

Giro d'Italia

The Giro d'Italia is coming up soon. Who are you cheering for?
Sorry I didn't post the last few days. I was away for the whole week-end.

Clash of Clans

My clan just reached level 7 and it is great! Extra war loot is always good, especially when you need to upgrade your towers.
I would like to visit the United Kingdom one day and see London and Scotland.

Our Play

The date for the play is coming up fast and I don't think that we are ready. We still have problems with finding things for the set since we have a very limited budget. If you haven't read The Outsiders, you should read it because it is a good book.

Types of Clouds #3

Stratocumulus clouds are another type of cloud. If you are astute, you may have realized that it is just stratus ad cumulus put together. They rarely produce precipitation. They usually appear in groups and are dark, round masses. They can be pretty organized and appear at low altitudes. They are kind of a mix of stratus and cumulus clouds.

Stratocumulus clouds.

Easy way to make a battery

A battery isn't necessarily hard to make! Here is an easy way:
You will need zinc washers or tinfoil, pennies, or copper, cardboard, and acid. Vinegar and lemon juice are fine.
1.Put the zinc/tinfoil on a flat surface.
2.Place the cardboard on a zinc washer/tinfoil.
3.Place the copper on the cardboard.
4. Find something that can clip everything together.
You should have a sandwich. zinc/tinfoil on the bottom, cardboard in the middle, and copper on the top.
Repeat steps 1 to 3 as much as you can before you run out of something. Don't make it two big, maybe 6 of everything is fine.
Next, dip the tower into the acid. Pour the acid into a bowl and dip the tower in.
4. Find a light that has cords attached to it and connect one end of each cord to one end of the battery.

The light should light up. If it doesn't, make sure that you soaked the cardboard thoroughly. Try not to do it before you assemble the tower.

Types of clouds #2

Cumulus clouds are "puffy," like those clear blue skies with a few clouds blocking it. Cumulo means heap or pile in Latin. It is very unlike stratus clouds and are those kinds that are "fluffy." Of course, if you are on a cumulus cloud you would just fall to the ground as they are not solid, but made out of water vapor. Like stratus clouds, they are very low lying. They don't cover a very large area.

These are cumulus clouds.

Types of Clouds #1

The first type of cloud is called the stratus cloud. It is a very low level cloud and is very flat and smooth. They featureless and may cause some small rain, but nothing big. The prefix Strato in Latin means layer.

Typical stratus cloud

Clash of clans

Only the Town Hall left to upgrade. So close...

What will happen to our sun?

Don't worry, the sun isn't massive enough to become a black hole. In about five billion years, the hydrogen inside the sun would run out and the sun would slowly increase in size, engulfing the inner planets, including the Earth. (Don't worry. By then, we would have moved to Kepler 452b or something like that.)  Next, its outer layers will shed off, forming a planetary nebula, leaving the inner core, which comprises of mostly carbon and oxygen. This is normal as 99% of the stars in the galaxy would become white dwarfs. R.I.P sun.

Proof of regular hexagon

Okay. Proving that you can draw that perfect hexagon is kind of easy since it was easy to draw a regular hexagon.
First, connect the centre of the hexagon with each of the hexagon vertices. Remember this?
Now do this:
You should have 6 triangles. These triangles are all congruent because of SSS. Each of a hexagon's sides is equal and each triangle shares a side with another, making every side equal in length, We already have three sides.Next, each of these triangles has the same inner angle, since the hexagon splits it evenly, so 360 divided by 6 = 60 degrees. Since these triangles are also isosceles, that means that the other two angles are equal two! That means that each triangle is an equilateral!

Now it is pretty obvious. Since the radius of the circle is equal to each of the hexagon's sides, we now know that the hexagon we drew is indeed perfect.

Drawing Regular Hexagon in any circle with only a ruler and a compass!

You may think that drawing a hexagon is an easy task, but a regular hexagon is harder, especially when you don't have a ruler. You might think that this is hard, but it is actually pretty simple. This is what you do:
1. Have the original circle with a point on the side, like this:
2.Take the compass and measure the radius with it, which is the distance between the two points.
3.Next, mark off the points of the hexagon with the compass length along the circle, like this:
4. Finally, connect all of these points together to get a regular hexagon, without using a compass!
The proof will come soon.

Clash of Clans

I have 1 wall left to upgrade until I max out Town Hall 7!

Difference between volts, watts, and amperes

Volts, watts, and amperes all have things to do with electricity. You may think them similar, but they record different things about electricity!

Amperes record the flow rate of a specific flow rate of a circuit. In equations, it is represented by I. It is one of the SI basic units and is shortened to amp. It is named after André-Marie Ampère, a French mathematician.

A volt is named after Alessandro Volta, the first person that created a battery. Electrons move to different atoms randomly, but if they are all in one direction, a current is formed. What do they need? Something called Electromotive force, or Volts. It measures the potential of electric charge between two places. It is represented by E.

A watt is named after the Scottish engineer James Watt. Usually, it is represented by the symbol P. You can remember this by thinking that P equals power ,which watt defines. It expresses energy per unit per time.

An equation: P = I x E. Basically, Watts equals Volts times Current (Amperes).

All about Venus!

Venus is the second farthest planet from the sun. It is named after the Roman goddess of love and beauty. Her Greek counterpart is called Aphrodite. One year on Venus is approximately 224.7 Earth days. It is the second brightest natural object in the night sky, the moon being the first. Venus is similar to Earth from their size and distance from the sun but their climate is nothing alike at all. Venus has a very thick atmosphere, with a thick layer of clouds covering a lot of the planet. This makes it very hot. The sun's rays pass through the clouds on the way in, but can not escape. It is like global warming but to a massive degree. On the surface, temperatures can reach up to 462 Celsius and 863 Fahrenheit. The atmosphere is comprised of about 96% carbon dioxide, which can explain the greenhouse effect.

Size comparison with Earth

All about Mercury

No, I am not talking about the element. I am talking about the planet! Mercury is the planet closest to the sun and the smallest planet. It has a very thin atmosphere. This makes its temperatures vary a lot. The side that is facing the sun is extremely hot, with temperature 427 Celsius (801 Fahrenheit) and the other side is freezing, up to -173 Celsius! (-279 Fahrenheit) One year on mercury is only 88 Earth days! Its radius is only 2440 kilometers. NASA's MESSENGER flew by Mercury in 2008 and gave us stunning pictures of it. Mercury is kind of like our moon, with a lot of crater holes.
Mercury is named after the messenger of the Roman gods. In Greek mythology, the messenger of the gods is called Hermes. He has winged shoes for fast transportation.
Mercury is made up of mostly iron.

Pluto: Planet or dwarf planet?

Pluto is a planet discovered on February 18, 1930 by an American astronomer. It was regarded as the ninth planet until 2006, when its classification was changed to a dwarf planet. Pluto takes about 248 years to orbit the sun. Since it was discovered, it only completely about one third of its orbit! In 2003, an astronomer discovered Eris, another dwarf planet. Pluto is an icy and extremely cold planet since it is very far from the sun. The weird thing about that was Eris was bigger than Pluto. This led astronomers to question what makes a planet a planet. They decided that Pluto is too smaller to be classified as a planet, so in 2006, it and some other objects were classified as dwarf planets. There is big controversy on this topic. Do you think that it is a dwarf planet or a planet?
